KNUCKLE CURVE …. Held with the middle finger alons the outward side of the horeshoe and with the index finger arched as in the knuckleball grip. The hand is held cocked ½ way between fastball and curveball positions and the middle finger is overloaded or pulled down upon release. The effect is a ball that appears inside and breaks sharply across the plate. It is hard for the batter to decern from the fastball . This is a good pitch to teach younger players providing an alternative to the other breaking pitches.
the Knuckle Curve:
A cross between a knuckleball and a Type 2 slider. The ball tends to move like a slow 3/4 armed curveball .
